LIBRARY EXCAVATION & MEDIA ARCHIVING

GME is extensively involved in excavating and repurposing library assets in film, television, photographic, and print media for a variety of clients, including corporate entities, cultural institutions, and individuals.   Our expert staff engages in a detailed excavation of warehouses of material, an item-by-item assessment of the assets, construction of detailed databases about the intellectual property and the physical holdings, and a concurrent evaluation of the cultural and historic importance of the collection.   Through this process GME has brokered the sale of numerous library assets.

This multi-faceted process of item-level identification, verification, and cataloging is unique to GME.   The company, therefore, stands firmly behind all of its assessments.

We have established a strong track record working with a variety of media assets:

  • moving image materials (nitrate and safety, 35mm and 16mm)
  • photographs (historic and contemporary)
  • paper materials (books, papers, and ephemera)
