There’s still time to catch the world premiere of a series of of newly discovered and restored  experimental films by the artist Maria Lassnig.  This important series, “Maria Lassnig: New York Films 1970–1980,” is concluding at MoMA PS1 on June 18.  It highlights both finished films and film fragments, all produced using 16mm, 8mm, and Super 8, comprised of live action footage, animated drawings, animated paper cut-outs, and documentary footage of the artist’s studio and her surroundings in New York.  The DVD MARIA LASSNIG: ANIMATION FILMS (Austria, 1970-1992), is distributed by GME to educational markets in North America.
