Danish Film Institute

The Danish Film Institute is the national repository for Danish film heritage and has the obligation to collect, preserve, restore and promote Danish film art and culture domestically and abroad. The Film Archive is the caretaker of films given to the Danish State through the legal deposit act.

The Danish Film Institute has launched a project to digitize and make available the Danish silent film heritage on DVD. Danish Silent Classics is a DVD series with the most significant titles of Danish silent cinema, both individual masterpieces and anthologies. Many discs contain bonus features as well as filmmaker biographies and filmographies.
