GME Notes with Sadness the Passing of Kenneth Brown, Author of THE BRIG

Kenneth Brown, a Brooklyn native, rattled by his brutalizing experience in the brig for insubordination while enlisted in the U.S. Marines, converted his harrowing experience into the hyper-realistic play THE BRIG, successfully produced Off-Off Broadway in 1963 by the Living Theater, and brought to the screen in 1964 by Jonas Mekas.
